About this piece
Black cotton with a red flower embroidery design — the deep red blooms sit against the black ground with a richness that neither colour could achieve alone. The floral embroidery runs at the neckline and front, adding detail without heaviness.
The red thread is worked by hand into the black cotton, each petal stitched individually at a tension that keeps the fabric from puckering.
