About this piece
Warm rust ground with bold palm leaf shapes — the terracotta tones are rich and unhurried, and the palm leaves emerge from the colour where the wax held the cotton back from the dye. On a night gown, the warmth of this combination is particularly comfortable — it reads as settled and grounded.
The rust here is the same colour family as the kaftan version, but on the longer cut of a night gown the gradient across the dyeing is more visible — the colour is slightly richer at the hem end and lifts a fraction toward the neckline. That variation is the honest record of how the cloth was dyed.
