About this piece

Round tie-dye circles in blue, each one blooming outward from a concentrated centre. The blue is deep at its core — close to indigo — and lifts gradually toward the outer rings into a cleaner, lighter tone, with the cotton between the circles staying undyed.

No two circles in a tie-dye piece are the same size or density. The binding is done by hand, the dye seeps inward at its own pace, and the result is a pattern that looks ordered from a distance and entirely individual up close.
