About this piece
Warm pink ground with bold palm leaves emerging where the wax protected the cotton. The pink is soft and even across the cloth, the palm shapes are generous in scale, and the combination has a relaxed tropical quality that feels easy to wear as nightwear.
The palm outlines were applied in wax before the pink dye went on — each leaf a series of strokes that taper at the tips and widen in the middle. Where the wax held well the leaf edge is clean; at the very tips where the tool lifted, the pink crept in just a little, softening the point. That detail is everywhere in this cloth if you look for it.
