About this piece
Deep green with a triangle border at the hem — the green body is full and earthy, and the geometric border brings a folk-textile quality to the lower edge that lifts the whole piece. On a full-length night gown, the border runs as a considered band of pattern against the open ground above.
The wax triangles were drawn in sequence around the hem, each one a deliberate turn of the tool. In green the border reads as organic and grounded — the geometry and the earthy colour work together rather than against each other.
