Deep red dots on white cotton, vivid and warm. The red here has depth to it — not flat, not uniform, but slightly varied the way hand-dyed colour always is when it meets the fabric unevenly.
The white stays white only because the wax was there first, holding the ground while the dye soaked everything around it. Take the wax away and the pattern appears — built by resistance, not by ink.
