About this piece
Green and black circles arranged across the cloth in an interlocking pattern — the contrast is sharp but the hand-dyeing keeps it from feeling hard. The green carries a natural warmth, the black anchors it.
Each circle boundary is a wax line. The dye respected those lines mostly — but not perfectly, and that imperfection is what gives the pattern its energy. A machine would have made it flatter.
