About this piece
Pink body with a triangle border at the hem — the softness of the pink ground and the crispness of the geometric border sit together in a way that makes each one work better for the other's presence. The pink is warm and settled, the triangles give it a lower anchor.
The triangle sequence around the hem was drawn in wax by a hand that held the spacing in its head rather than measuring it out. The rhythm is even but not identical — each triangle is close to its neighbours but not a mechanical copy — and that's the quality that makes a hand-drawn border feel right rather than printed.
