About this piece
Green dots across white cotton — the green has a freshness to it, bright without being lime, and the dotted pattern spreads across the cloth in a way that feels consistent from a distance and handmade up close. A night gown you'd genuinely want to reach for.
The dots were protected by wax while the green dye took hold of everything around them. At the edges of each dot, where the wax tapered, the green lightens almost imperceptibly into a soft halo. Those edges are what distinguish batik from any printed substitute.
