About this piece

Large round tie-dye circles in pink — each one a burst of colour that starts deep at the centre and radiates outward into lighter tones before fading back into the cotton. The pink ranges from rich rose at the core to the softest blush at the edge.

Tie-dye circles are made by gathering the fabric and binding it tightly before dyeing — the tighter the bind, the whiter the centre. What you see here is the result of that tension released: colour spreading in every direction from the point where the cloth was held.
