About this piece

A deep, living green across cotton — not uniform, not flat, but the kind of green that shifts slightly in different light, darker where the dye pooled and lighter where it barely touched.

The dots sit in the green like small windows back to the undyed cloth. Each one was held there by wax while everything around it took the colour. Up close, the edges are soft where the wax lifted — that faint halo is the mark of the hand.
