About this piece
Blue deepening into black — the blue end is a true indigo-adjacent tone, cool and rich, and it draws progressively darker through the length of the night gown before the black takes over entirely at the hem. The shading is gradual, giving the piece a long, elegant visual movement.
The gradient was built in layered dye stages rather than a single pass, which is why it has tonal complexity rather than a flat fade. In certain lights the middle section reads as a deep teal, in others as near-black — the cloth has a range of appearance that flat-dyed fabric simply can't offer.
